2017 has seen a share of several sci-fi tv series premier but the movies have had big share. Here is some best 2017 sci-fi movies which are easily accessible through Netflix, Apple TV, Dstv and several other channels meant for the Zambian market.

1. Alien Covenant

       Spoiler: How can one man rather an Android so easily decimate the engineers. Killing all life                         on the face of the planet soon as you show up seems extreme.

Bound for a remote planet on the far side of the galaxy, members (Katherine Waterston, Billy Crudup) of the colony ship Covenant discover what they think to be an uncharted paradise.

While there, they meet David (Michael Fassbender), the synthetic survivor of the doomed Prometheus expedition. The mysterious world soon turns dark and dangerous when a hostile alien life-form forces the crew into a deadly fight for survival.


2. Valerian and the City of a Thousand Planets

In the 28th century, special operatives Valerian (Dane DeHaan) and Laureline work together to maintain order throughout the human territories. Under assignment from the minister of defense, the duo embarks on a mission to Alpha, an ever-expanding metropolis where diverse species gather to share knowledge and culture.

When a dark force threatens the peaceful city, Valerian and Laureline must race against time to identify the menace that also jeopardizes the future of the universe.


3. Bladerunner

5. Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2

Spoiler: Not bad but a good triumph of the many sci-fi movies lined in the year

Peter Quill and his fellow Guardians are hired by a powerful alien race, the Sovereign, to protect their precious batteries from invaders. When it is discovered that Rocket has stolen the items they were sent to guard, the Sovereign dispatch their armada to search for vengeance. As the Guardians try to escape, the mystery of Peter’s parentage is revealed.

6. Wonder Woman

Spoiler: Great visuals, an impressive start but lingering a lot of questions. overally a good fun                 base for a heroine
Before she was Wonder Woman (Gal Gadot), she was Diana, princess of the Amazons, trained to be an unconquerable warrior. Raised on a sheltered island paradise, Diana meets an American pilot (Chris Pine) who tells her about the massive conflict that’s raging in the outside world. Convinced that she can stop the threat, Diana leaves her home for the first time. Fighting alongside men in a war to end all wars, she finally discovers her full powers and true destiny.

7. War for the planets of the Apes

     Spoiler: Apes unite for a greater effect

Caesar (Andy Serkis) and his apes are forced into a deadly conflict with an army of humans led by a ruthless colonel (Woody Harrelson). After the apes suffer unimaginable losses, Caesar wrestles with his darker instincts and begins his own mythic quest to avenge his kind. As the journey finally brings them face to face, Caesar and the colonel are pitted against each other in an epic battle that will determine the fate of both of their species and the future of the planet.
The list is not exhaustive has several sci-fi movies are out for the year and there is yet more to come like Stars Wars The Last Jedi due in December, Justice League due next month and Thor Ragnarok scheduled for 25th October
