Some sectors in information technology believed Windows 10 was the last version in that nomenclature. It was rumored further release of Microsoft Windows OS will only be followed by builds and versions.

What is in Windows 11?

Here are a few bulletins of what is in Windows 11

  • A simplified user interface to be more intuitive based on the feedback of Windows users’ experience.
  • A centered windows menu which was previously on the left from the inception of Windows
  • Android Apps are coming to Windows in Windows 11 through Amazon apps.
  • What is the minimum requirement for Windows 11? According to Microsoft post “devices running on Intel 8th generation processors and AMD Zen 2 as well as Qualcomm 7 and 8 Series will meet our minimum system requirements for Windows 11.”
  • PC Health Check App. How do you check if your computer meets the minimum requirements? Use PC Health Check App. The PC Health Check app is intended to help you check if their current Windows 10 PC could upgrade to Windows 11.
  • Windows 11 includes a new Dynamic Refresh Rate (DRR) feature to save laptop battery life. You will have to decide between 60Hz and 120Hz on a laptop. This means depending on what you are doing the refresh rate will adjust automatically between the two. Laptops these days are now shipping with 120Hz and a higher refresh rate.
  • Chat. In Windows 11 you can now “instantly connect through text, chat, voice or video with all of your personal contacts, anywhere, no matter the platform or device they’re on, across Windows, Android or iOS.”
  • For IT departments Windows 11 is built on Windows 10. This means preparing for upgrades and developments is in the same and simple as what has been in Windows 10. Windows 10 Apps will continue to work and compatible with Windows 11.
  • Windows 11 will be available through a free upgrade for eligible Windows 10 PCs and on new PCs beginning this holiday (September 2021)
