How to check if your mobile phone is eSIM ready? Firstly what is an eSIM? Well, eSIM is short for embedded SIM a tiny electronic chip embedded in mobile devices, like smartphones and smartwatches.

Unlike traditional SIM cards, which you can physically remove and swap between devices, the eSIM is built into the device during manufacturing.

To check whether your device is eSIM dial *#06#. A pop-up window will show IMEI(MEID and S/N. to confirm your device is eSIM ready check the EID number present. If the EID number is not present then your device is not eSIM ready.

How does eSIM work? Well, when you want to switch carriers say MTN to Airtel, or activate a new plan, you don’t need a physical SIM card. Instead, you can do it digitally. The process involves scanning a QR code or downloading a profile from your carrier, and voila! Your device is connected to the new network.

Which iPhone version supports eSIM? The iPhone 11 series supports dual SIM cards with eSIM technology so this means iPhone 11, iPhone 11 Pro, iPhone 11 Pro Max, and going upward through 12, 13, and 14.

Which Samsung version supports eSIM? The Samsung Galaxy S20, S20+, and S20 Ultra support eSIM. Also the Galaxy Z Fold4 / Flip4, Galaxy Z Fold3 / Flip3, Galaxy Z Fold2, Galaxy Z Flip 5G, Galaxy Z Flip, and Galaxy Fold.
