MTN Introduce Kasaka Savings

MTN Zambia in partnership with Barclays Bank have introduced a new savings account on Mobile Money platform. Labeled as and under the TwaSolva crusade “Kasaka” is a new feature on the MTN Mobile platform. 

Kasaka in local terms simply means i have enough money to fill a bag. Earlier in the week MTN CEO Charles Molapisi posted on his Facebook account to keep check for Friday 21st September for the news update.

Kasaka similar to Patumba investment fund will work on the MTN MoMo platform. Meaning you need to have the Mobile Money Account and a Barclays Account. 

Also on Digital Savings available in Zambia 

A lensesview check on the MTN Mobile Money menu saw a feature under option 4 Kongola but now labeled Kongola & Savings and in the sub menu option 2 says Kasaka Savings. When you navigate to the option you receive a message “You are not whitelisted to access this menu”

How will MTN Mobile Money Savings Kasaka work? Is MTN becoming another bank in Zambia?
