Samsung Smart View App is a screen mirroring app that allows you to stream files including video and audio from your Android phone to Samsung TV.

Samsung TVs supported by the app include the Samsung smart TVs introduced from 2011 to 2015. Later Samsung smart tv models screen mirroring and file streaming is supported through Samsung SmartThings App.

Unfortunately, the Smart View app will no longer be supported from Oct. 5, 2020. After October 2020 “if you delete Smart View app from your mobile device, you will not be able to download it again.” Says Samsung but “you can continue to use Smart View app unless you delete the app.”

Samsung Smart View App has been an outrageous service for most users calling it “Useless” as it often fails to work. A March 2020 update even created havoc according to many users reporting the up button stopped working.

With the large market share of Samsung Smart TVs in Zambia the app equally affected most users often creating frustrations from the use of the app.

Some complaints about the app

Just like everyone else below, everything was fine before this March 3rd update. For me personally everything luckily still works except for the fact that it can’t turn my tv off anymore. Anytime i hit the power off option on the app the app just disconnects from the tv but the tv remains on.

I downloaded this app so I can mirror my phone to the TV, but the connection keeps dropping despite my internet connection being clear. And it only allows me to control tv apps through the phone which is the exact opposite of what I want.
