The Toyota 1ZZ-FE engine has gained popularity not just in Zambia but globally. A quick glance at Facebook used car sales will reveal the high demand for cars with this engine. So, what makes the 1ZZ-FE engine so sought after?
The 1ZZ-FE engine, produced by Toyota, was a popular and reliable powerplant that was used in many different vehicles from 1998 to 2008. This engine had a reputation for being durable, efficient, and easy to maintain. The compact and lightweight design of the engine made it a great choice for small to mid-size cars and SUVs.
The 1ZZ-FE engine is a 1.8-liter, four-cylinder engine. It has a bore of 81.0 mm (3.19 in) and a stroke of 88.5 mm (3.48 in). It has a total engine displacement of 1794 cc (109.5 cu in).
Talking on the fuel consumption, generally speaking, the 1ZZ-FE engine is known for its good fuel efficiency. In factory specification, the engine is rated to get approximately 25-30 mpg (miles per gallon) in city driving and 35-40 mpg on the highway, depending on the vehicle model and trim level.
